It is unclear if quarterback Carson Wentz will play, but promising young players running back Miles Sanders and wide receiver J.J. Arcega-Whiteside will participate, though wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery might not. Former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles is now the starting quarterback in Jacksonville. If the Jaguars hold him out of the reunion, rookie Gardner Minshew will be under center for the majority of the matchup.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson hasn’t offered many hints regarding Wentz’s preseason workload. Quarterback Nate Sudfeld suffered a preseason-ending wrist injury during the opener against the Tennessee Titans last week, so it’s unlikely that the Eagles will risk Wentz’s health during the exhibition season.

Quarterback Cody Kessler, who was with the Jaguars last season, is looking to prove that he can be the short-term backup to Wentz while Sudfeld recovers from his injury. Kessler and rookie Clayton Thorson should receive plenty of snaps against the Jaguars, regardless of Wentz’s participation.
